The game follows the story of a team of researchers who are sent to investigate a remote scientific outpost in Antarctica after contact is lost with the facility. The team soon discovers that the facility has been overrun by a hostile alien life form that can mimic any living organism it comes into contact with. The player takes on the role of Blake, the leader of the team, who must not only survive the harsh conditions of the Antarctic environment but also identify and eliminate the alien threat before it spreads to the outside world.
